Old Butter Roads Food Festival 2019
The Old Butter Roads Food Festival 2019 (May 24th to June 1st) returns for the third year running and, this time, the flagship event will be the Old Butter Roads Food Festival (May 24-26) taking place over two days in the award-winning O’Mahony’s Gastropub & Courtyard, in Watergrasshill, where food writer Joe McNamee’s Grub Circus curates and hosts a family-friendly programme of fun food-related events for all ages as well as assembling a range of top guest speakers and contributors including Irish food legend Darina Allen, for the Old Butter Roads Food Symposium. As always, The Old Butter Roads Food Festival 2019 will showcase the splendid food produce, hospitality venues and tourism and leisure activities to be found along the trails of Cork’s historical Old Butter Roads region and delivered by the members of the Old Butter Roads Food Trails network.

Best Customer Service Award Munster for Ballyvolane House
Happy and delighted. Ballyvolane House won Best Customer Service Award Munster at the Irish Restaurant Awards in Dublin.
The Irish Restaurant Awards took place on Monday, 13th May in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road. Over 1,100 guests sat down to a black-tie gala dinner to celebrate and honour the hard work and achievements of those working in the Irish restaurant industry over the last 12 months. Attendees were treated to a black-tie gala dinner prepared by previous winners of the Irish Restaurant Awards. The Chef Team is handpicked by the Irish Restaurant Awards, with chefs representing each region of Ireland.
Loam Restaurant in Galway was named All-Ireland Best Restaurant 2019, while Graham Neville of Dax Restaurant, Dublin, was named All Ireland Best Chef and Everett’s Restaurant in Waterford was named All Ireland Best Newcomer. The All Ireland Pub of the Year is Doheny and Nesbitt from Dublin.
